People who move patient safety forward

Dr Susan Welsh chairs Pharmacovigilance Americas 2027 and opens both days of the conference. A physician by training, she spent around a decade in patient care before a long career in global pharmaceutical management across research and commercial functions. She has led global pharmacovigilance and risk management at Sanofi (as Chief Safety Officer), Bristol Myers Squibb and Pfizer, covering small molecules and biologics from development to mature products in oncology, haematology, immunology, neuroscience, vaccines and consumer health. She qualified in medicine at the University of Leeds and holds a master's from Washington University in St. Louis and an MBA from UC Berkeley.
